From the Interim Parish Priest:
Anniversaries are important. At St Andrew’ next Sunday we shall celebrate an anniversary – the tenth anniversary of the ordination as a priest of The Reverend Helen Gibson-White. Helen is a greatly loved member of our clergy staff. She was a deacon for some years before she was ordained as a priest. As is the custom at St Andrew’s, the celebration will be an enthusiastic affair with eating and drinking and fellowship. All those who know Helen are invited to come and to share in the shared lunch. Some who read this will remember Yuna and Ted Newbold, parishioners for many years. Yuna died a couple of years ago. Her family is placing a memorial plaque in the pew where Yuna and ted used to sit. Yuna donated the glass doors that lead into the church from the foyer in memory of Ted. And now we shall have this plaque to remember them both fondly and their many contributions to St Andrew’s life. The family will be attending church on Sunday June 25th (next Sunday) when the plaque will be dedicated.
