People within the Parish
St Andrew’s aims to be a friendly, welcoming Christian community, and like Saint Andrew in the Bible, we want to make a difference for God. We want to reach people with the life-giving message of Jesus Christ.
We value our heritage as an Anglican Church which has played a significant part in the life of the local community of Walkerville since worship first began in 1848. We respect our continuity with the past, yet we, with God’s help, reach out to the generation of today. This is shown in the quality of our buildings: a combination of the beautiful heritage Church attached to the recently built Parish Centre, both situated in beautiful surrounds.
The Bells of St Andrew’s ring out each Sunday over the houses of Walkerville and call young and old to come together to worship in a happy, friendly, caring and spiritual community.
